Life goes on, with or without me (to quote one of my own lyrics, which alludes to (steals from?) a more familiar lyric).

Life has been going on in the area of watercolor painting, something which I’ve always. thought might be something to do ever since seeing Winslow Homer’s watercolors of the Bahamas and Florida from the 1880s to early 1900s at the Monroe County Public Library in Key West, Florida.

Too bad I didn’t take up watercolors then, or I might have gotten skilled at it. Or I could have taken more photos with watercolor painting in mind… But I’ve taken a few, and one of my earlier renditions of which I’m not totally embarrassed is this portrait of Key West – Shrimp Boats at dock, based on a photograph taken many years ago.

Could be better, and I may revisit it again to see whether my skills have advanced, but for now, here it is. You’ll not see my copy of Homer’s Fishing Boats – Key West. For reasons which would be apparent were it to be seen.
