Bignonia capreolata – Crossvine
Portraits of Wildflowers
Went on a Native Plant Society field trip yesterday and a surprise attendee was Steve Schwartzman, who posts his photographs at http://portraitsofwildflowers.wordpress.com/
I highly recommend subscribing to his blog.
Penstemon cobea – Fox-Glove
Prunus mexicana – Mexican Plum
Anemone berlandieri – Wind-flower
Named for Jean Louis Berlandier who collected plants in Texas and northern Mexico. This bud is not quite open for business. The mostly white sepals are not petals. Colors range from greenish white to purple. This one is one of the many weeds that are interspersed between the clumps of Buffalo Grass in my curbside strip.
