All the photos above were taken in September and October 2023, either in our yard or in the berm and greenbelt behind it. As one can tell, there was some rain during that time, enough to push up a few rain lilies, but not so much that most plants thrived.

Rhus virens (Evergreen sumac). One of several plants, including Clematis drummondii (Old Man’s Beard), that seem to think that Spring has arrived, and are putting out blooms after the long hot summer of 2023.

Doh. I should have know that one because I own a huge evergreen sumac. But the flowers look bigger in your picture than what I have seen on my plant. It just didn’t click. Yeah, lots of us, as well as the plants, are messed up because of the weather. Sure am glad it’s a bit cooler.
You doing OK? Hope so.

Hey Bob, Sounds like something happened that Walt and I didn’t hear about. Were you in a wheelchair for a while? Did something break? At any rate, glad you are up and about and photographing flowers!
